The day has arrived!
Check back for photos and video of our great weekend.
Melissa's old college pal, Heather Moran, was making a CD produced by Melissa's father, Tom. Heather had been performing with a number of musicians for years in the Chicago area. When selecting her band for the album, she chose Scott as her drummer. Heather invited Melissa along to the studio, so on a school night (Tuesday, May 11, 2004 to be exact) Melissa went out at 10PM (way past her bedtime) and the rest is history.
We have always admired those Christmas Village houses and wanted to start a collection. Melissa's last Christmas present was a miniature Victorian house (similar to the one she grew up in). Scott said, "I bought us our first house, open it up." On the second floor balcony was the ring. He said, "I love you will you marry me and be my wife." Of course, she said yes.
Melissa is an English teacher at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Columbia College and a Masters in Education from DePaul University. In her free time, Melissa loves to go dancing with Scott, beat him at Boggle and Scrabble and lose to him at card games (especially gin rummy). Since meeting Scott, she has actually gone camping... more than once... and plans to continue to do so. It is amazing what love can do.
Scott is employed at Standard & Poor's Public Finance and periodically drums for a number of bands in the city. He graduated with a double major in political science and public administration from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. During that time, he was a late night DJ with Dan "the Man" Terrien. Upon graduating he moved to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago where he continued to play music and received a Masters in Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy. In his free time, Scott loves to road trip, read, bake the best bread you've ever eaten and drink good wine. With Melissa, of course.
We'd love to hear from you.
